Résumé : En se reportant aux sources historiques de l'Antiquité, grecques notamment, et en utilisant les données de la linguistique, l'auteur propose un nouvel éclairage sur l'étymologie du terme "gorille". Cette recherche sur l'origine du mot “gorille” le conduit aussi à souligner tout l'intérêt de l'étude des divers voyages/expéditions maritimes dont l'Afrique a fait l'objet dans l'Antiquité ainsi que celle des relations qui ont pu s'établir entre les navigateurs et les peuples rencontrés sur le continent africain.

Abstract : Putting under  light  the etymology of the term “Gorilla”. Referring to the historical sources of The Antiquity, notably the Greek ones, using the data of linguistic, the author proposes to put under a new light the etymology of the term “gorilla”. This research on the origin of the word gorilla also leads him to underline all the interest of the study of the different maritime trips/expeditions, the purpose of which was Africa in the antiquity, as well as the study of the relations that can have established themselves between the navigators and the people met on the African continent.

.Les migrations Sereer : jalons de la saga africaine et sénégalaise

Résumé : Dans cette communication, l’auteur identifie les éléments de la culture sereer présents dans les cultures du Nord du Sénégal (waalo-waalo, njambur-njambur, fuutànke). Il élargit son d’analyse à l’espace soudano-sahélien, saharien et nilotique, en étudiant la migration qui a conduit les Sereer jusqu’à la côte atlantique du continent africain.

Abstract : Sereer migrations : milestones of the African and Senegalese saga – In this communication, The author identifies the features of Sereer culture which are in the culture of the North of Senegal  (Waalo-Waalo, Njambur-Nambur, Fuutànke). He broads out his analysis to the Soudano-Sahelian, Saharian and Nilotic regions, by studying the migration which takes the Sereer to the atlantic coast of the African continent.
